East Coast Contractors, Inc. historical restoration of the The Stone House Inn, Sakonnet Point Road, Little Compton, Rhode Island.

Work began on the project in 2007. ECC has been one of the primary contractors responsible for restoring the building including; working with engineers to specify and install structural steel beams to support the failing 150+ year old balloon-framing; interior and exterior features including restoration of the two-story wrap-around porch; construction and finishing of a the 14' turret which had blown off the building decades earlier; construction of several cupolas which had also been lost to weather; reconstruction of roof dormers; reconstrction of two additions which had fallen into disrepair; (historically correct) replacement of all windows; extensive restoration of the Inn's 1880's barn which is used for office space and to host social functions.

Nearly complete, The Stone House Inn is scheduled to reopen as an upscale Resort Inn and Spa by mid-2009.

While the majority of the work required use of historically correct materials and building methods to match the original 1845 construction, use of some eco-friendly "green" building materials were allowed to provide better insulation. One material, a product called Logics™ foam core building blocks were installed by ECC. The blocks are later coated with concrete and finished to match the masonry exterior of the building.

(The Stone House Inn has recently been nominated to the National Register of Historic Places)
